Lowering - V Maxx, Darkside ??? Please advise
So finally the time has come to get my new caddy sorted 2012 SWB
Going to fit a set of 19" ( thinking Zito 935's) and want to lower it, after much research I am still struggling with which direction to take.
Lots of people fit V Maxx but also there are a lot of bad comments about these,
Darkside rear kit seems to get a lot of thumbs up but what rear shocks to use with this and what front coilovers ? I've read of people using golf ones ?
If I still need it to be practical for work (medium weights) then what kind of height should I be looking to drop by ?
Sorry if this has all come up before but cant seem to find al the info in one place.

I've got KW mk5 golf coilovers on the front and darkside kit on the back (still with the standard shocks though)
The coilovers are spot on and cant fault them, thats second hand too and i reckon they've probably been on a number of vehicles over the years, but i got them for £50 so i wasnt worried haha.
As for the back i believe everyone raves about the GAZ shocks, shorter than standard, reasonably quick turnaround i believe......i'll be buying a set when i have the cash spare. Around £120 for a set i think - dont hold me to that though.

There are only 10 kinds of people in this world - those that can read binary and those that can't.

I had vmaxx, but removed them and fitted spax rsx front adjustable coilovers and gaz rear adjustable dampers, both spot on and pleased with choice, for example I have been running the gaz on 6 clicks out of 20, but recently felt that I could feel the rear a bit soft so turned them up to 8 clicks, now feel perfect, my advice is to go for adjustable damping everytime so you can fine tune

Low kit

Super low
The main difference is the rear hangers, the low has 8 holes for adjustment and the super low has 6 and has shorter hangers as if you are on lowest hole on low kit you can catch hangers on curbs, also super low has build in centralise plates I believe

What bit do you measure to check. Also when I type golf mk5 coilovers it doesn't tell me if they are 50 or 55mm

Also if the hubs are 55mm then they will have 288mm discs or bigger, two piece calipers that the carrier un bolts off the hub, tends to be 2.0 tdi and golf gti, I've had 1.9 tdi mk5 golf and got a mk5 jetta 1.9 tdi and both are 50mm
