Picked up a 2016 Caddy on Friday there. So will be upgrading as I go along, and trying to keep things updated here.
Fairly standard van. So lots of upgrades to do. Only things bought so far are LED interior lights and wind deflectors.
Not fitted yet, just ordered a few minutes ago. But it's a start.
Will post some pics when I sort my NAS out, ha ha.

As I said, pretty basic. But a decent base for some modding.

Re: 2016 Caddy Thread
Plans are basic just now. First things first, I NEED cruise. All my other motors have ACC, but that'll be too awkward to retrofit here. So looking for MFSW mounted cruise for this.
Also, the wife has a rubber allergy (surprised I only have the 2 kids), so got to get a carpet in there ASAP.
After that, the only other thing I'll do before the better weather gets here is get Carplay in the car. So that'ss be the driving tech sorted.
Then once the better weather arrives, I'll strip out the panels / trims, sound deaden the van, add insulation, and carpet it all. I'm thinking including all the front trims too. Get it all "cozy" looking. Then a drop and some wheels. Probably stick with 18's on this (I have 19's on my Golf R and 20's on my T6.1) as I want to run cross climates year round, and 18" is the right balance for size vs price on them.
Once that's done, then I have to make the desicion. Do I keep it, and keep going with colour coding the bumpers and adding xenons, or move it on for something higher spec / lower miles / nicer and continue on that one.
Located in Angus, Scotland. Hence the tyres, and needing cruise, as I'll have mega drives to collect all the parts I need for mods.

It's a shame the approval system isn't working here though. I am quite sure there are many a build thread / how to thread that would be invaluable to me over the next few months.

Re: 2016 Caddy Thread
OEM xenons are hella expensive, so doubt I'll go that route. Even the TMG vans ones aint cheap, and they dont look nearly as nice. So unsure what way I'd go. But like I said, they are last on the list. As it's such a large outlay, I have to be sure I'd keep this van before I invest that much. So I'll do the "cheaper" stuff first, and see where I sit. If it looks like I love Caddy ownership at that point, it might be a better idea upgrading to a lower mileage van with better spec before then. Unless I find a bargain set second hand somewhere.Scotscad wrote: ↑Wed Feb 11, 2026 11:58 pm Yeh the guy that approves u has gone awol for over a year. Iv been waiting to get approved also. Yeah, I ran CrossClimates year round on the Caravelle, and they were great. Up until I put the 20's on of course. I run 19" Summer and 18" winter (well cross climate 3 sports) on the Golf R Estate. It deserves good summer rubber else whats the point. But the Caddy? It'll be fine on high quality all season rubber year round.

Re: 2016 Caddy Thread
I got my xenons from ebay used but there like new. Still cost ma a grand tho. And there original vw. Yeh no point in putting expensive tyres on the caddy unless its like a tfsi swap or a r32. I got new jbw rok 18’’ steels that came with dynamo tyres, never heard of them but they seam pretty good tbh. Mine is a 2.0 tdi 103bhp so never going to set the heather alight but good enuf for what i need. I also had a golf r 7.5 on a 20 plate, last of the 7.5s. Good car with the dsg. I made a hybrid front bumper for my caddy so need to get the rear colour coded to match the front but will wait and maybe get a hybrid for the rear when the gritters have gone.
