Daily driver so no plans to go mad with this. Also used for camping with my rooftent. Just back from 4000km and two weeks around France!
It’s a 2.0L 105hp.
Recently I’ve fitted a timing belt and water pump.
New wishbones, rear bush on drivers side was bet so just got wishbones to replace the lot.
Fitted Bilstein B6 shocks all around, new bump stops in the rear.
New front top mounts.
I got a “fitted” shelving unit off Amazon for the back that took a lot of fettling to get anyway close to fitting nicely but does the job.
I’ve fitted two LED lamps on a switch in the rear. As well as two 12V outlets in the bulkhead to run my fridge and charge my battery pack while driving. Have these on a switch at the moment, might change them to ignition activated at some stage.
Ad Blue started giving some issues lately so this week I’ve gotten a remap to remove ad blue and also got a power map too. Should be at 160/165hp. Has transformed the van. In France with the rooftent and fully loaded up with camping gear it struggled to maintain the speed limit on the motorway once it got hilly so this power map will be appreciated on the next road trip.
Next plan is to fit a reversing camera and dashcam which I have waiting to go.
Also want to figure out retrofitting cruise control and maybe the multi function dash display.
A nicer set of seats would be great at some stage also!

Welcome Jamie
Sounds like you've got yourself a sweet little set up for adventure
Would love to see some pics of the fit out for camping etc

Re: My Caddy Maxi
I’ll try attach some pictures now.
Haven’t done a massive amount of work to the van as of yet, trying to keep the majority of things reversible in case I ever upgrade or want a bigger van etc.
also with it being a daily driver it’s nice to have the flexibility of still using it as a van also.

Re: My Caddy Maxi
Another small thing I have done is put some dodo mat sound proofing in the rear. Made a nice difference although not transformative.
Has anyone else used sound deadening in their caddy? Is it worth going further and doing the roof, floor, sliding doors or front doors?
I looked at doing the rear doors but there is very little space available to actually put in any so left it alone.

Also a picture of how much had to be trimmed to get the “fitted” shelving to come anywhere remotely close to fitting. Even at that it’s still very untidy looking but does the job.

Re: My Caddy Maxi
Welcome again
Looks like you've tackled it well
I guess custom fitting the fit out was a pain but kinda necessary, shame u had to do it tho as it is probably sold as a plug n play unit
None the less, some nice camping adventures will be had and enjoyed
As for sound deadening, some have gone to great extremes for their Caddy
The choice is yours ultimately
The Mk ey take away is that it seems to really only be necessary on larger panels but again, personal preference

Cheers Stu! Yep it was sold as a direct fitted kit which is the annoying part, it was no where near fitting.
For the price paid it’s definitely still worth it if you have the tools and ability to modify it. Just for someone with out tools and ability it’s a wasted product.
Had some good adventures this year already and hopefully many more to come!
Next mod for the camping side of things will be extending the overhead shelf back to the bulkhead so I can put bedding up there and save on floor space.
Yeah I’ve seen both sides of it, I’d probably lean towards thinking the bigger panels will make the bulk of the difference, but it would be nice to quieten in down a bit more just not sure there would be enough of a difference to justify the amount of work in stripping it all back.

Re: My Caddy Maxi
I've turned my Caddy into a camper and sound deadened and carpeted.
The problem we all have is how to make comparisons to know what really makes a difference, but here's my take.
Bitumen sheets takes the van from noisy and tinny to just noisy. I didn't add bitumen sheet to the van floor because the floor is ridged anyway and does not sound tinny.
Sealing the holes, insulation and carpeting make a big difference, but not passenger car difference.
I added a bit of sound deadening in the rear and sliding doors. They sound more solid when closed.
Floor insulation and ply floor means the noise of the diesel sloshing in the tank goes and a good amount of road noise too.
The big surprise was an engine undertray this takes a lot of the reverberating noise of the engine out of the cabin. What's more they are cheap and quick to fit.
Anything you add into the back of the van like furniture especially cushions all helps.
My van is acceptably quiet now.
I could add sound deadening and insulation into the cabin floor, drivers and passenger doors and under the bonnet. Which no doubt I will when I remove the seats and door panels but not desperately important anymore.

Cheers PJ!
Definitely have the sliding doors on my list to do. And I may do the roof if I have the bulkhead and overhead shelf out. I was thinking front doors might make a decent difference but we’ll see if I get the interest.
I have a ply floor that was in it before I bought the van, but never put insulation under it maybe I should have had. Can hear sloshing only after just filling the tank to be fair generally not too bad.
Maybe the wells under the seats might make a difference there too!
I definitely must source an engine cover and and undertray if possible, the under tray would be nice even to keep some dirt out of the engine bay, interesting to hear you noticed some noise reduction.
I’d guess the front wheel wells would potentially make a difference too if the floor lining isn’t too bad to take up!
It will never be car quiet but nice to drop the volume as much as is practical!
