mk3 or mk4
Hi, sorry if this is a stupid Q - but how do I tell if my 2015 caddy maxi is mk3 vs mk4? Both versions where being manufactured that year. Does it say somewhere in the V5C or part of the VIN? See pic.
I think the bumper style looks like mk4 from what I can find online - but great if someone can confirm!

Welcome to the forum.
The Caddy4 is essentially the second facelifted version of the mk3.
VW branded it as a Caddy4 as a sales tactic despite being built on the same chassis.

Thanks, yeah I had read that. So mine (pic above) is definitely mk4? Just shopping for some new wheel trims, I don't think that the facelift affects that but various sites want model details so figured it would be useful knowledge for future

Re: mk3 or mk4
The only way I can tell between them is by looking at the indicators on the front wings.
MK3 is oval. MK4 is more angular.
I think there are other differences and some parts don't fit the mk3 by it's the only way I can tell visually.

Re: mk3 or mk4
It's a mk4 is it 2ltr ir 1.6? Did both on that plate has it got adblue? The lights bonnet wings bumper are all mk4 so would hazard a guess someone hasn't facelifted a mk3. Also interior are the vents round or rectangular and does it have a glovebox?

Re: mk3 or mk4
Correct me if I'm wrong but is the entire dashboard on a Mk3 and Mk4 not totally different? Also the Mk3 facelift has rounded oblong indicators set in from the edge of the wing, while the Mk4 has pointy indicators with the back edge aligned with the edge of the wing.

Re: mk3 or mk4
The MK3 is nothing like the MK4.
The MK3.5 is like the MK 4 but has a scoop in the front of the bonnet for the badge. But the MK3.5 headlights are nothing like the MK3 but are similar to the MK4.
If you had one of each lined up you would easily see the difference.

Re: mk3 or mk4
Thanks all, yeah def mk4 then, thanks for the help, just needed some side by side pics really that last link is great cheers @Nicklouse.
So it's a 1.6l highline maxi, no adblue, got a glove box, rectangular vents, pointy indicators.
Now looking for some black wheel trims to fit... want as much coverage as possible (to hide the tarnished wheels) but still with a nice look. Found these - how do I tell if they'll fit? Do I need to know anything beside the tyre size (15")?

or these a bit nicer but more ££ and not mad on the white logo.
