Thanks was easier than I thought. Just cutting out triangles around the corners to keep the carpet thin on the rear.Rigguz wrote:Great work!! Done a cracking job with the carpeted panels!

Re: 2015 facelift BG build thread
Fitted some LED sidelights today not canbus but will source some load resistors. Also finished carpeting the rear rear window panels and sound deadening on the roof with insulation so the rear deadening and insulation is complete. Just the cab to deaden and insulate and fit Touran carpets that I’ve ordered while the trim is off in the cab I’ll fit the dash cam.

Re: 2015 facelift BG build thread
Managed to fix sound deadening to the area above the headlining. Removed the A Pillar (which was fun getting back on!) best bit of advice is to wiggle the clips left in the body and replace into the pillar locators and line them up by looking through the windscreen.
while the pillars were off I ran the cable for the dash cam, I will connect to the fuse box tomorrow hopefully.
Just the doors and floor left in the cab to sound proof and insulate.
I have noticed a definite difference in the sound on the van when closing the rear doors already.

Re: 2015 facelift BG build thread
Been a little while since I’ve updated.
Van has been for paint of the front and rear bumper and mirrors. Was thinking of colour coding the door strips and handles but glad I didn’t as it breaks up the blue.
Fitted the splitter and wheels.
Will leave the height as it is until I’ve finished the inside as I will know how it sits with the weight.
Swapped the footwell rubber for Touran carpets I picked up for £40. After putting some sound deadening and insulation down.
Just have the side bars and rear door spoilers to fit and the outside is done.
I have carpeted one side of the rear as I’m fitting the electrics to one side only.
I’ve ordered all the electrics. Split charge, smart charger,
consumer unit, sockets cable etc. Once the electrics are in I will carpet the remaining side and rear.
I also carpeted the rear headlining and fitted the down lights ready once the sides are finished.
I’ve also got some U shaped furniture from vanfurniture.co.uk and will look for some oils to finish it.
Also changed the clips that I fitted from grey to black on the barn doors. While the covers were off I fitted vapour barrier.

Re: 2015 facelift BG build thread
Are the front and rear bumpers the standard black plastic that came with the van?
Reason I ask is The front looks really good!
Have you got anymore pictures of the front and back bumpers now they have paint.
I’m actually tempted to get this done myself it has really transformed your van.

Thanks. It’s 3.2mm ply trimmed. I have all the original panels stored and templates for the large rear window inserts to make more if needed.

Looks good
if you want to hide all the drill holes that BG do to the back doors you can get blue screw caps that tidy them up.

Re: 2015 facelift BG build thread
Here's a idea what they look like.
I made my bottom door panel a bit larger to hide most of the holes at the front then used the blue caps round the window...
They're not the perfect colour match but tidies up all the holes.

Re: 2015 facelift BG build thread
Good idea!
Where did you get them from? Could possibly spray them to match?
