Your caddy is looking superb mate👌🏻 the 19's really sit well in the arches. Love the colour of the van aswell..had something similar in mind... eventually😂

Barbel330 wrote: Wed May 27, 2020 2:36 pm Even if you have the narrower rear axle (which come on the 1.6 engine caddy I believe?) with et40 and 235 tyres you’re unlikely to be able to open the side door. I could just about open mine with et42x8.5 with 235’s but I had to remove the ply lining from the door and it still touched the wheel slightly.

8.5xEt45 is your best allround bet.
Sorry to highjack the thread, Barbel would you say this wheel fitment applies to a Maxi as well? (I'm currently looking at wheels for my 1.6 Mk4 Maxi). Thanks in advance.

I think maxi will be the same as the swb mate but I know very little about the maxi tbh.

@Bad666 . Yes lowered. Adjustable coil over on front & flipped axle. It can go much lower but I use as a mini camper & have it set higher to allow for weight & longer grass.

I inherited v-maxx coilovers when I bought the van. They're not everyone's 1st choice but I've found them to be ok & i believe they are reasonably priced compared to other brands. I'm sure someone will be along with other recommendations. Bilstein seem favoured or you could go with Gti shocks & lowering springs which is also popular.

Hi guys, I'm new here so forgive me ..

I been reading this post and although it's old I hope I get a response. ..

I have a 2020 caddy maxi and running 19x8.5 ET40 on 245/35/19 tyres. MTS coilover kit with flipped axel. It rides like a dream with no passengers in.

No issues with sliding doors opening, ride is perfect except I am unable to take passengers or load it.. it rubbish the inner rear render. Front has no issues at all.

I'm aware the tyre could be too wide .. Will a 235 solve my problem? Or any advice on how to stiffen up the rear?

Help please
