Re: Widebody caddy 2k?
The gull wing thing might not be as crazy as it sounds..... I wounder if it would be possible to use something like a lambo door hinge so when you pull the handle the door pops out and opens like a normal hinged door. Loose the sliding bit. Support it on the C pillars. Just an idea in theory it could work. But might be to much work.

Re: Widebody caddy 2k?
I think you would have to have some serious reinforcement in the roof to take the outward opening weight if that side door Ry. There really is no need to do anything further than modify the lower inner door like ive done already, but will need a little more taking out! Mine works a treat as you know and my rear 10” wheels protrude way over legal limits! So needs addressing

Re: Widebody caddy 2k?
You’ve come too far to get boring now Hef
Hinge the side door off the B pillar so it opens outwards like a regular door That’d be relatively easy. Just get the hinges and catches off a Touran rear door and Bryn’s your welsh uncle

Widebody caddy 2k?
Just a thought mate, I may be barking up the wrong tree with this. You’ve already cut the inside of your door down haven’t you?
I’m 99% sure RAD do a mod kit that allows the rear door to sit further from the van when opened.
Would a combination of those two be enough mate?

Re: Widebody caddy 2k?
I saw a caddy in York the other day which may be close to what you're asking of the owner is on here. I'm sure it was bodykitted out but not 100%but it was black with a split yellow back, very low and a had some of those massive mecano looking spoilers on the back if you know the style I mean for an ID if it's on here

@the swan fiend ... hey Pete good to hear from you buddy, and hope you and the family are well! Yes you’re right RAD most certainly do a mod for this which will be ingenious im sure as their work is top notch ... but like everything of quality, not cheap. I’ve taken the van out for a blast tonight for the first time properly and it was wet and its really epic mate!! So im taking it in for some measurements and ideas next few days with a view to wide arch it, im sure i can get this on the door mod ive already done Pete but i’ll know better once ive spent some time looking and thinking about it, keep you post matey and thanks my friend
