Software version needed for 6 Speed & Cruise Control?

Post by Gaz-M »

Hi guys, ive a 2007 Caddy with the 6 speed gearbox and cruise control retrofitted.

Usual issue of cruise not working in 6th, i believe its the software needing updated?

Ideally id love a full VCDS scan of a Caddy that has it fully functional, otherwise the software code thats installed and the coding would be great!

Thanks in advance :D

PS i tried posting in techy section but couldnt get access :S

it probably hasnt been coding in correctly

The number gears you have 5 or 6 has no bearing on the software on whether CC works

I depends if your retrofit install part numbers all correspond to each other
1.9tdi / Calibre CR3 / Lowered-Axle Flip / RNS510 / GTD Seats / Touran Rear Setup
6sp / Touran Bumper / Fogs / Highline Dash / CC / MFSW / Touran Leather Centre Console / now in the 200+bhp club

Hi. So what does the coding for 5/6 speed do? It wont accept the 6 speed code. Surely that makes a difference..

What do you mean, the CCS part number correspond with what?

Thanks

There is another thread on here about this I believe you need to change the ECU for a older version.

Ive had a search and never came across that thread, a link would be great if possible!

The problem is, theres all these different ideas/ opinions and no real proven fix!

I got mine working after changing the ECU.
Is that not a proven fix?

Sounds like it, but its the first of you saying! Thanks.

So what age etc is your van, what ECU was in it, what did you put in it and what coding was involved?

Not the first of me saying it at all, just the first you've seen. ;)

For your benefit:
I have:
HW 03G-906-021-AB
SW 03G-906-021-QD

This was a custom installation of the QD SW as the original SW on the ECU did not support cruise in 6th.
A few SW's were tried before I got one that both worked with cruise in 6th and gave the digital cruise speed in the facelift cluster.
For me, this SW is the best of what I have tried.

Software version needed for 6 Speed & Cruise Control?

Post by Gaz-M »

So what age is your van?

Do you have a full scan so i can see exactly what you have that works?

What was involved in ECU swap?

How did you manage to update SW without VW to supply it/ have the tools?

Thanks!

I bought a 104 caddy 05 plate. It had a pendle performance remap on it when I bought it. Did the 6 speed conversion and the CC works no problem. Try a remap with pendle makes it cheap to run and a lot more power low down too.

Hi. Its had a remap already and I've already checked that has no bearing on whether the CC works..

Did you not have to code ECU at all after 6 spd conversion to get CC working in 6th? Interesting!

Any chance you can give me a VCDS scan of your van?

Anybody with 6 speed & CC working able to upload a scan to give everyone an answer once and for all?

I've got mk4 6sp box in and mine and fitted a MFSW, CC and the wiper button stalk all at the same time

All you have to code in to the ECU is that the caddy now has CC fitted. Nothing to do with selecting whether you run a 5 or 6sp box

There's a bullet proof How to on the forum regarding fitting
1.9tdi / Calibre CR3 / Lowered-Axle Flip / RNS510 / GTD Seats / Touran Rear Setup
6sp / Touran Bumper / Fogs / Highline Dash / CC / MFSW / Touran Leather Centre Console / now in the 200+bhp club

Well the CC works in gears except for 6th. The ECU also has an option for coding it for 5 or 6 speed gearbox, but wont accept the change to 6 speed.

So i think you have just got lucky with the ECU and software you have. Can you provide a scan of your van please?

I cant access all parts of the forum as im new.......
