vw main dealer service cost and quote.

Time for a service and other bits so got a quote from main dealer as follows - Service (oil & filters) £108 / Cam belt, water pump £462 / outer cv joint £239 / Total - £809 inc vat.
What do you guys think to these prices?

What year, engine & mileage?
I think they are about £100 too much for the belt and pump.

Its a 2008 1.9tdi / 43000 miles.

The cambelt price is high!

Im due to get mine done at 40k

And a major service

Will use genuine parts and get a pal to fit the bits I think

Yes its a lot of dosh and have considered buying the parts and getting them fitted by a mate. I think it helps when reselling to have all work done by vw and the paperwork to prove it.

I have never had a problem selling any car I have self serviced, I suppose then again I have never had to advertise my cars for sale as mates just buy them every time? Doubt any of them want the maxi any time soon though...

I have a fam member at VW so it will be done in his safe hands luckily

That's mega money for the belt and pump!
I had mine done by my mate who is a vw technician, he used genuine parts , belt, water pump,oil and filter,£170 !
Main dealers are a rip off!
Where abouts are you ?

Bud goto lmk clanfield vw n Audi specialist that's who I'm using and way cheaper
They quoted 300 for Campbelt n water pump also advised me to scrap my long life service as I don't do enough mileage
Highly recommend them they know there stuff good guys there

Contacted lmk and they have quoted £660 inc vat. Full service / cam belt & water pump / outer cv joint / mot. All with genuine parts. Sounds better to me. I mentioned you recommended them. Cheers.
