6 Speed Completed
Finally got round to fitting the 6 speed box today with of course a big hand from mylolams from the site in helping out. Mylo came to my place bringing the experience of doing his own box and sorted mine right out. Only went for a quick spin when it was completed, due to a crying need for a shower, so will post results up in mean time. Big thanks to mylo who really knows his stuff in helping me out on this lil project

1.9tdi, remap, tints, plylined, colour-coded, rs4 alloys, small sound system, 6 speed box, mud flaps.

It's not that difficult to do, no harder than changing a clutch.

Re: 6 Speed Completed
If anyone is considering doing this i would say do it.
Changes the van completely, engine can barely be heard any more, lovely to drive now.
At 100km/h just 1500rpm....unbelieveable difference.
Gear ratio's so much longer aswell.

Re: 6 Speed Completed
We never had TDI mk4s in this country
Would a mk5 2.0TDI 6spd box be a direct swap? A few of them have crashed now since they arrived here in 2005

Re: 6 Speed Completed
you need to remove the outer CV joints from the caddy shafts, and put these onto the golf shafts.
Theres a lot involved, but there is a how to.
You'll need a 10mm and 12mm spline drive sockets aswell btw.

Re: 6 Speed Completed
Can you post up some top end speeds and the revs so we can see what differences there are. Also if someone has access to a 'private road' can they see what the top end is. I make mine abouyt 120 ish at the mo. Would be great to get some more on this because the van is up to it......
