The reason i think the module is built into the slip ring is when i search for a scm for my van it shows a slip ring/module. All wiring plugs in around the slip ring so im wondering if mk4’s dont have a seperate scm.

But the OP had a 2019 startline caddy which is obviously a MK4 so the advice given by Javito covers that model.

Which makes me think it can't be built in, plus the slip ring is a thin flat set of copper rings on all vehicles, it needs the right amount of rings for a given set of functions, but it's not a module it's a set of contact pads and a circular set of copper tracks so the steering wheel can turn but still have a connection for the horns and buttons etc. It's not a module kind of gadget. Theres also a clockspring kind of connector which is a wound ribbon cable which unwinds or winds depending on steering position, these are the only way to get rotation and button controls on any vehicle.

What do your current stalks plug into? That's the steering controller likely.

No iv not done a scan as im not really sure how to as i have obdeleven. Was hoping sumone would jump in and let me know if a mk4 has a separate module. Also maybe sum coding instructions other than what google tells me to do.
