Spent the day hiding the cable for the rear view camera. Now I know why the garage charge so much.

Still need to connect the rear light so that it knows when I am reversing.

@joyva, I got these for mk3 facelift.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dynamic-Swee ... 2749.l2649
Know others have bought them too.
Great service an love them.
They didn’t come with foam to make them sit tight but spoke to seller and they sent some out free. I believe they are shipped with it now

@Papa Bear
Thanks for the link! I know about these, but I like the mk4 ones. Was wondering if they are compatible with the mk3 (same mounting) or not.

Just installed a fuse piggyback for some permanent led ambient lighting whilst ignition on. Going to keep looking to see if there's a way to connect them to the auto lights or lights on position so they're not on in the day too.

What kit did you fit Daz? Looks lovely.
How was it to install, did it take long?

Yeah, I like that too. Good job.

I DROVE mine for the first time in 10 days after coming out of isolation. All the sound deadening I've done has worked an absolute treat.

New speakers from Skipton this week, so will install them on the standard head unit.

Fitted ON/Off switch to dash panel using VW heated window switch and a latching relay board.
Built it yesterday - Gosh, but it is cold out there !

Insured it today for £390 with Adrian Flux. They originally wanted £440. After a bit of shopping round and no joy I found a quote for £360 with LV but with £400 excess as opposed to £200 with Flux.
I phoned Flux up and asked them to meet in the middle somewhere, and they knocked £50 off and left my excess alone so I’m a happy bunny.

That’s a good price mate! Where about in the country are you? I’m in Liverpool where insurance is always more expensive.

Ah, of course! I’m up in the central belt in Scotland. Last years insurance from Admiral was just shy of £300
