Re: What did you do to your van today?
Fitted mk5 Gti seats, in the end managed to bolt straight in after loads of head scratching and trying to drill new holes like most advice I read. The holes on the sliding rails line up with the big holes in the caddy frame used to access the frame to floor bolts, big washers underneath with some new M10 x 40mm bolts and Nyloc nuts, cost £2 for the lot
the rails are over hanging the back of the frames by roughly an inch but you don’t see this with the seats fitted.
Just need a clean again, oh and during the time I picked up my bolts the starter motor packed in leaving me stranded in a petrol station. So if anyone has any experience with starter motors please share
P.s drivers inside bolster isn’t ripped just something on my camera screen I think

Gave my maxi life a clay bar, polish and first coat of wax. The dealers idea of clean and mine are obviously very different
Cursed at the realisation that the roof is a pita to polish and wax......

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Bought a new injector and injector seal for cylinder number 4. Was on the way back home on the M80 when it decided to die on me. Took me over an hour limping it back home on the back roads, stopping every now and then to let it cool down and stop misfiring. Will be back on the road this week.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
I had an injector fail, fixed it. A few days later went the second. So I bought two for the others, but since I have them sat waiting the Caddy hasn’t missed a beat

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Please to find that the black rear windows on my ex BG caddy were vinyl (or similar) so was able to remove the complete back and will replace with a tint

(Shows the vinyl half off with a lovely view of my shed)

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Finally got the stance + coilovers and rear axel flip kit installed along with rear centralising plates. My mechanic said the whole job from start to finish was an absolute nightmare
. Glad I never attempted it now, 12 years of rusty untouched bolts and struts wielded in to the hubs. Also renewed the two front lower wishbone arms and drop links at the same time as the bushes on these looked perished.
I had the easier job of fitting 15mm spacers all round just to bring the sportline alloys flush now with the wheel arch.
I must admit the van feels so much more planted around bends not like a wallowing bouncy castle as before. Ride is quite firm but also pretty comfortable at the same time.
May have to loose the mudflaps now as they are scrapping on off road tracks, may need to raise it abit more. Other than that very happy indeed.

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Removed drivers seat and put it back again. Not got a long enough spline bit to remove the frame so ordered one.
Fitted new arm rest lid.
Spliced in wires to the bcm for footwell lights and heated seats.
Now adapting internal door handles for Audi lights. £55 from Audi or thrown in for free from scrappy when buying armrest lid

Re: What did you do to your van today?
Went to see @Doc (the oracle) to sort this cruise control issue i was having. Turns out the coding was spot on it was 2 damaged wires in the stalk. Then got talking to matt @dubunit and left with a remap and about 140bhp lol.
Needless to say the drive home was awesome the van pulls so nicely all the way to 4k i don't have to down shift to 4th when Lorries pull out to accelerate from 55 to 70 and in general it drives so much better.
Got home repaired the wires and cruise control works spot on
.
Highly recommended Matt and Doc for any caddy or dub related services wicked set of guys very helpful and friendly thanks for everything today guys
