Had this really annoying whistle coming from drivers mirror. Anything was over 55kph. Was driving me crazy.

Fitted a foam seal that is used for installing ceramic cooktops and prevents oils/crease/liquids from running under top

This stuff is super hardy and fitted it in the gap between mirror housing and mounting plate. So easy to fit.

Silence at last :D :D

No. Not $170 to be fitted.

$170 fitted means cost of L+R wind deflectors inclusive of fitting.

@Crazy7ony I'll be worried to delock that mate lol, having problems with my back door lock as it is, brought the van with a slamlock and it's been nothing but trouble, haven't got that rod from the key lock anyway, it was removed with the slamlock, Iv had to make a new rod for the handle. I can't get in my side door, there's racking in the way, so if my central locking ever dies, I'll be locked out

I have them too, like them a lot. The Mk4 ones (which you got if you bought them recently) are a bit better than the Mk3 ones (better plastic, bit more streamlined). If you ever replace them, fit them yourself, takes about 5 minutes, the instructions are in the box.

OEM ones are even easier. Use provided tool to push some plastic clips into the window seal. Job done.

If you can even find non-OEM ones on the other side of the world ("Rhodesian75" and myself are), they would work out to be pretty expensive. The VW ones don't have any branding on them, which I prefer. Mine cost about £70, fitted them myself.

Exactly, I said it may be different in aus, im not hating on the guy, I'm saying how tf VW guys can try and charge 356 dollaridoos for a 5 min job! Jesus even 170, deflectors included is robbery. But I totally understand it's harder out there for you to get bits that are readily available for us in the UK.

Did they just completely fill it with putty? I was looking at doing mine but thought about bashing it out then using putty/filler. Wasn’t sure if filling completely with filler would work.
