With regard to your ‘remap chip’... I also had one on my ex BG van when I got it, think it’s something to do with giving the van a little more grunt than standard because of all the weight they carry round.
I got rid of the heavy racking when I bought my van and don’t carry much weight in the back of mine. Must admit, after removing the chip I found it was much smoother and nicer to drive 🤙🏼

I found some info in it last night. Its a fuel saving remap that all gas board vans apparently got done. The van is not restricted and i carry quite a bit of weight in the van so i'll leave it in for now.
Ultra Eco – If you own vehicles which are used by others, you may only care about fuel economy. This map will result in a drop off in power in the higher revs, but also with large fuel savings. Probably not what you would want for your own vehicle, but BT and British Gas have had their entire fleet remapped by our file writers (Viezu)

Yes mine was directly behind the coolant tank towards the back of the engine bay. FYI... The part Tony took a photo of was inside a black bag and was cable strapped to something else on my van.

Just had a look, can’t see it on mine, maybe it’s located somewhere else (I’ve a 2011 year) oh well, I’m not going to worry, I wouldn’t unplug it anyway as I’ve no idea what would/wouldn’t happen if it did.
It just got me wondering, that’s all.
Thanks for the replies gents

I am looking forward to one of those thanks......
Hi. Could you tell me where you got the bonnet insulation from, and also the engine cover, and what model it’s from. I guess yours is a 1.6 bg Maxi?

Thanks a lot!

The engine cover I got from a mate so I’m not sure of the part number without looking

The other parts are there. You will need 2 of the studs.

Just picked up some Passat B6 black half leather seats and a pair of Touran bases, now need to scour the forum to find info on making the electric driver's seat work.....I'm not good with electrics

Today I’ve ordered a carpeted ply lining kit, got the rear seats installed and my new wheels have arrived! If I can fathom how to post pics from mobile I will add them
