Remapping Engine?

Post by Drumbum »

Well lads, Has anybody found any trouble with tuning their engine? I want to get it done but im just checking to see if there is any major downside apart from fuel consumption? Is anybody else worried about putting extra strain on the engine? I'd appreciate a few opinions,
Leon

im sure you have read the numerous topics about it

a remap on a standard engine is fine, im running mine fine with no problem, if anything i would say it bit better as dont have to drive it as hard

as for fuel consumption, it goes up if you drive it normally

Same as Teg for me - no worries with mine - any worries about the clutch are a non starter really, as the standard Caddy clutch (see numerous threads) appears to be a bit hit and miss anyway. My Caddy is so much nicer to drive than my wife's Touran (same engine - not remapped) and the fuel consumption is fine - obviously if you cane it you get the obvious result.
