Anyone fitted a DPF for it to meet the ULEZ emissions?

Post by caddy-dean »

Hi There,
currently have an 06 caddy which as the ASV/PD130 engine conversion which should be running in the next few weeks fingers crossed.
I live in one of the London Boroughs and there is talks about expanding the ULEZ zones to all boroughs and normally when this happens it normally means its going to happen.

So looking at the PD130 engine carcon output its like 140g/km and Euro 6 is 139g/km so this means I will have to go down the DPF filter in order to meet regs.
Has anyone gone down this route and know whats possible and how much it costs etc?

Interesting idea but I don't think it works like that.
Even the DPF equipped cars with the 1.9TDI engine do not meet Euro 6 standards, there's a lot more to it than CO2 output.
Your best bet is to fit a 2015+ TDI.

Would you also need to re certify with the DVSA to prove compliance? Don’t believe changing the v5 would be enough.

surely if doing an engine swap to avoid emissions a switch to a suitable VW petrol engine would be the way to go?

It goes on what the original vehicle was tested at a build .Not on engine fitted unless retested for emissions approval
